Part 03
Chapter 11: Dreams
Adam makes a run for it, escpaing the alien beings who have kept him for as long as he could remember.
Adam stepped around the corner and found a very long hall, curving slightly so the end couldn’t be seen, with doors lining it on the outside curve. He remembered what Nanny had told him, the first of three things he must not forget: many of the doors led to other halls, but the eighth one led to an exit.

Chapter 12: Interview
Admiral Chan tries rather unsuccessfully to learn about Adam’s past.
Rather than answering, Adam grabbed the pillow from the head of the bed he was still sitting on and smashed it into his lap. It felt good to physically affect something like that. He hugged the pillow slightly, and pressed his elbows into it, pinning it to his lap.

Chapter 13: Relaxed
Audrey tries to make Adam more comfortable so he will start talking.
Audrey reached out for his hands, and he provided them. She closed all of his fingers but the index of each hand, and slowly brought them up to either side of her face. She seemed to blush a little as his hands relaxed against her cheeks, and Adam started to feel warm suddenly.

Chapter 14: Revelations
Adam talks about the end of the Earth, and makes a realization about where he really spent his life.
There were big explosions all over the planet, and the oceans started to boil away when the surface was broken open, letting out all the fires inside the Earth. Great clouds of steam blocked out the sunlight and made the world dark. There were winds that blew dust and rocks all over the place, wrecking everything in big storms.

Chapter 15: Discoveries
Cole makes a discovery about the alien ship as Adam explains how to make it work.
Adam continued, “So then I changed these numbers here,” he said, showing the red display with the Protector’s numerals on them. It had different characters from the other two displays, but all three were slowly changing numerals.
