Part 01

Chapter 1: Pilot
Meet the newest member of Admiral Chan’s team, the pilot.

Her eyes were blinded by the sunlight after having been in the lower levels for the last few hours. She hadn’t arrived with the Admiral, but rather arrived early to meet him here for a briefing that was to happen after the conference ended. “I have never been unable to pilot something which I have attempted to pilot,” she clarified.

Chapter 2: Val
Get to know some of the team through the eyes of the new pilot.

Val felt uneasy again. She knew that she wasn’t the most responsible person in the system, and didn’t know how to be a role model. Being a role model was something that parents and heroes did, but Val was only a flyer. She cleared her mind of all that nonsense and began rolling the ship to put the surface below them in order to make the approach to LunaBase.

Chapter 3: Briefing
Find out why Val was hired, and what is expected of her.

Val stopped for a moment, but Chan continued to walk. She shook her head trying to clear her thoughts, and then jogged to catch up to the Admiral. She noticed that the far end of the hall loomed in the distance in the form of a brown door, the only thing of color besides the two of them in this long white corridor. “But I won’t be able to interfere with anything in the past. It’s already happened.”

Chapter 4: Plan
What is Cole up to, and could he trust Val to help him?

She could tell he was trying to bait her. She felt comfortable with him though, so she took the bait on purpose. “I just never got caught.” She paused a moment for him to realize that she had confessed only a little, and then she changed the subject.

Chapter 5: Execution
The plan has been hatched, and now they are breaking the rules.

She did trust him. Val wasn’t sure why she trusted him, or what she was doing helping him out, but she felt like it was the right thing to do. Pilots rely on their intuition a lot to get them safely through otherwise dangerous situations, and she didn’t feel any danger right now, only curiosity about what would happen next.
