Getting out of the compound proves more difficult then getting in.
It was so hard to concentrate with all the buzzing in her head. It was starting to make her a little dizzy, but then, like a flash, Audrey was on to something. She quickly turned and called out to everyone present, “Make a path! Let them come through!”
Audrey enters the compound on a mission to rescue Adam.
“We are following a team of fighters in formation through the fray, directly into the enemy hangar. I just received word that the hangar is now secure, but there are a lot of loose weapons already in the air. Have you ever flown one of these birds before, Ms. Audrey?”
Adam is forced to tell the truth about everything.
The silence was unnerving for a moment as he continued to stare at the light. Ire’s gasp caught his attention, and he looked to where she stood with the other two guards by the exit. She covered her mouth with both hands, and turned to bury her face in Zimba’s shoulder.

Adam is caught in his lie, and the Protectors are listening.
Egypt stepped up to Adam and put her hands lightly on his arms, comfortingly. Her shaking was still present though. “But you were gone for most of a cycle, Adam. I cried and cried for you. And then you came back with that strange thing around you wrist.”
A plan is exposed, as is a secret, and a little skin.
In his mind, behind closed eyes, he saw his apartment at LunaBase. He was lying on the floor beside his bed with Audrey kissing him. She pulled away for a moment, looking at him with her blue eyes, the color of a full Earth in the lunar sky. Audrey’s yellow hair was wavy, let loose from the braid she usually wore, and it fell all around them.
Caught Somewhere in Time is a story about how the invention of the first time travel device in humanity’s future allows us to locate alien life that existed in our past, and the repercussions of alien contact.
